Getting started

You need a SiliconBlast account and a vault. The account signs you in. The vault holds your items, and only your devices can open it.

1. Create your SiliconBlast account

Open app.sphragis.siliconblast.com/signup. Enter your email and a password, or continue with Google, Apple or Microsoft. If you use email, SiliconBlast sends you a link. Open it to verify your address, then sign in.

Your SiliconBlast password signs you in. It does not open your vault.

2. Create your vault

After your first sign-in, Sphragis asks you to choose a master password. Pick one you can remember and do not use anywhere else.

Sphragis then creates your Secret Key on your device. The Secret Key is a 128-bit random code in the form S1-XXXXXX-…. Sphragis never sends it to its servers.

Download your Emergency Kit and keep it somewhere safe. It holds your Secret Key. You need the Secret Key and your master password to open your vault on a new device.

3. Save your recovery code

Sphragis gives you a recovery code when you create your vault. Store it apart from your Emergency Kit. If you lose your Secret Key and every signed-in device, only the recovery code can get you back in.

4. Sign in on your other devices

Install Sphragis on each device and sign in with your SiliconBlast account. The first time, the device asks for your Secret Key and master password. After that it asks only for your master password, or your fingerprint or face where the device supports it.
